Gallery Watercolors dominate the different galleries. I am a watercolor painter who studied many media at university and transparency has always been my interest. Oils, acrylics, ink, charcoal, sculpture, dye techniques on silk, photography and video were the content of my studies. All of them had aspects of transparency. After these studies, I concluded that I was a watercolorist. Occasionally, a work in acrylic will appear and it too is transparent. Looking back at my works, I can see the evolution of this interest in transparency. I paint in thin glazes and I enjoy seeing the colors through the layers of color. A color will change when seen through the successive washes of color. This transparency can be seen in each of the galleries. It is achieved by the light and color that are crucial to the creation of the transparency. You could say that transparency, light, and color are the true subjects of these paintings. |
