MONTREAL: Canadian Society of Aquarelle Demo, May 2002
Wednesday evening, May 1 was the opening (vernisage) of the Salon of the
Canadian Society of Aquarelle. The setting was the magnificent, historical
Tudor Hall in downtown Montreal. There was a line of animated people
waiting to enter the exhibition at 7:00pm. When we entered the Hall, it was
already buzzing with the excitement of the evening. My painting, MAGNOLIA,
sold the moment the door opened. Later during the evening, there was an
announcement of the newly elected members, and awards were presented to the
winning invited artists. The Ogilvy Prize which is presented to a work that
touches "the heart strings"(coup de coeur) was then presented. All works in
the exhibition are eligible for this award. My mouth fell open when my name
was announced as the winner.
