Tip of the Month - July 2003

With the summer season here, you may be considering a vacation workshop. There are hundreds of choices available. When you decide to take a workshop, you may have some questions about its content. You have a right to the answers. Here are some questions for you to consider.

Can anyone take this workshop or is there a certain level of expertise required? How many participants are there in the workshop?

What will the focus of the workshop be? Will painting and sketching be done PLEIN AIR? Or will personal photos make up the reference material for your paintings?

Does the instructor give painting demonstrations? Does the instructor give technical demonstrations if needed?

Does the instructor give in-depth critiques? Is the approach positive? Or does the instructor avoid critiques?
You will probably not have all the responses that you are hoping for. Decide which points are important for you and then make your workshop choice.

Enjoy your workshop experience.
