Vers l'ouest

Montreal, during the past two weeks, has been covered in a deep blanket of snow and this scene is a good example of our winter country. Our young five foot tall spruce tree sits in the yard proudly wearing its new coat. It resembles the spruce in this painting. When painting winter scenes, I try to have an area of warm colors and a softness in the shapes.
