The Pond

Every day after class, I swam in the pond. The water streamed down the
mountainside into the pond and pushed some of the resting water further down
the mountain. The water was cool and refreshing after a day of teaching.
The pond has had a few generations of the Schweizer family frolicking in its
cool waters.
I painted dark colors to start this work and then I gently sponged the
colors after they were dry. I applied maskoid to the dry paint in patterns
of leaves and flowers, afterwhich I continued painting darker colors. After
I removed the maskoid, the feeling and movement of the woods was there.
