"Thaw"

The Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal are made up of rolling hills. This is ski country. When I paint a winter scene, I often use warm colors & show the scene at the end of the day. This painting is all about the relationship between the complimentary pair of orange/blue. I have seen the snow appear like this for a fleeting moment at the end of the day. On a mild day, there is often a thaw in the ice on the river that flows through the mountains.

Dimensions: 30" x22"
