Sunlit

Hibiscus are so plentiful in the south that they do not appear to be remarkable. Certainly, there are more spectacular varieties than this single white one. But this bloom sat in very dark foliage with filtered sunlight touching its petals. My goal was to paint this subject with a tetrad and to mix the colors in a gray and muted direction. The tetrad contained two pairs of complements which certainly helped with the muting of the colors. I am pleased with the resulting glow of light on the flower.
