Summer's Eve

While taking part in the painting symposium at Domaine Joly-de Lotbinière in
Quebec, I chose this site as the spot from which I would paint during the
event. The pond was still and the reflections were wonderful. As the hours
passed during the day, I could see changes in the detail of the landscape.
Late day was the most poetic time of day. Color detail was reduced and a
warm flood of light covered the edges of shapes in counterlight. Even the
resident white goose (who was my companion) became calm in this light.
On the TIP PAGE, I explain my approach to this landscape.
