Summer's End

While I was on vacation in January, I painted this sunflower. It is one of a number of magnificent blooms that grew in our vegetable patch this year. The plants were 4-5 feet in height and the stalks were strong. Actually, they were strong enough for the birds and the squirrels to sit on and enjoy the ripened seeds. As a matter of fact, they may have dropped enough seeds on the ground to ensure a new crop next year.

Dimensions: 30 x 22

Medium: watercolor
