"My students asked me to arrive early for the last class of the season. They wanted to share a meal together. They had ordered in and we had a pleasant time eating and talking. Afterwards, one student came forward to present me with a bouquet of green cymbidium orchids. I was genuinely touched by the gesture. I decided to do a painting of the orchids for the student/teacher exhibition to be held later that month. It was my students's turn to be moved by my gesture. The title is french and translates as MEMORY OF..."
