Route 175 North


Route 175 runs between Quebec City and Lac St. Jean. It is a rugged road in that there are not too many communities along the way. 18 wheelers and cars literally fly along this road. It was a day of misty rain when I saw this scene. I would like to have stopped to sketch it, but the shoulder of the road was narrow. Instead, I stopped briefly and took a photo. I developed the composition through a series of sketches and added the drama of the light by my color selection. I shall probably paint this scene again with a different color sensibility.
