Red Peony


This work is a result of my continuing interest in the color red. What greens should I use? Light/dark; warm/cool? What ratio of green to red would work? Would I be able to mix the green into the darker reds? Besides answering these questions, I was curious about the technique. This painting was done in liquid acrylics. How many layers would I need to apply to achieve full saturation? At what point would I need to use acrylic medium to make the thin paint adhere to the surface? Painting is such an adventure!
