Red Rose and Crimson II

This is the Clivia plant. I wanted to work with as many reds as I could and this flower was the logical choice for me. Liquid acrylics have a marvelous intensity. They can be diluted to watercolor consistency or be used as a creamy liquid. Both applications can be seen in this work. The white in the flowers' centers is the white of the paper. The tropical heat coming out of this painting takes me away from the cold winter days and nights in Canada.

Dimensions: 22 x 30

Medium: liquid acrylic on paper
