Profile in Rose

Sometimes when looking at a flower in the garden, I am attracted more to its profile. Peonies are a good example. They have so many petals to deal with in a painting. This year, I found myself looking at the peonies from the side as they leaned over the grass.

This work was painted with liquid acrylics in the background and I used watercolor for the flower and leaves.

Dimensions: 10 x 14

Medium: watercolor and acrylic
