Path to the Meadow

This painting started as a demonstration in my intermediate/advanced class.
The idea was to work with the primaries - 2 yellows, 2 reds, 2 blues. I
masked out the light to start and then applied the yellows onto a wet
surface. The reds and yellows were spattered liberally for 3-4 layers.
Blues were added into the spattering in the later stages. I was looking for
the feeling of a contre jour effect or late day when the woods are quiet.
The meadow is not seen, only the path which is the way or journey to the
meadow.
