Night Gallery

I started this work by deciding that BLUE would be the color of focus. This was a challenge as I usually start with a warm color. I applied the colors lightly and freely, using ultramarine blue, Winsor blue, cerulean blue, and some turquoise blue. I left areas of almost white paper. The dark shape outlines were created with a Winsor blue and black mix. As one area formed itself, another suggested itself. Orange and deep yellow were accents. Richard and I looked at the piece together. After a discussion over our morning tea break, the feeling of a nighttime gallery was decided upon. I added a round white disk shape to reinforce the night idea.
