Neptunes Garden

I always think of flowers that grow in the water as being part of Neptune's garden. The water lily, naturally, would be growing on the roof of Neptune's castle which is beneath the sea. This particular lily was growing in the Montreal Botanical Gardens.

I used a variety of REDS, both warm and cool, for the flower and all my dark staining colors for the lily pads and the water. The white light is the white of the paper.

Dimensions: 22 x 30

Medium: watercolor
