Morning Mist

This painting is the demonstration painting for the July tip page. After completing the mist effects, I looked at the color again and decided to glaze pure colors over the muted colors. I, also placed the painting under water and lifted more softness into the land on the right side. I lifted the masking fluid from the tree and grasses in the water. I strengthened the color on the tree trunks. The areas of light in the water were painted a brownish orange color to show earth or sand. My goal was to show an early morning mist rising from the cool water. I can see myself interpreting this scene in a variety of ways in the future.

Dimensions: 15 x 22
