Lillies


"Late July and into August is the time for lilies in the garden. I am always amazed when these beauties appear at the top of a slender stem. Compositionally, lilies are not easy. They can be painted as a mass of flowers from a distance or as an enlarged closeup. As I love their form, I usually choose to do them as closeups. In our garden, we have pastel pink lilies and intense orange ones."
