Les Poires

Pears are one of my favorite forms to paint. There is usually a collective groan when I bring them to class for a still life. When I saw these pears together (barlett, bosc , and prickly), I knew that I had to paint them. I set them on a light colored wooden table, darkened the room, and positioned one floodlight on the subject. Reds, greens, and yellows were the prime colors that I used for this image.
I decided to enter this painting into the SCA SALON this year.
