Les Bouleaux




Les Bouleaux (The Birches) is drawn from my memories of birch trees. I tell students that we all have a memory of collected images of places that we have been. Having been in the countryside for five weeks recently, trees, forests and pathways are part of my collective memory.

I decided to paint this watercolor in a limited palette of Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Alizarin Crimson and Ultramarine Blue.
