Last Light




After visiting a special friend in Amherst, Mass., we stopped at this spot. It was late afternoon in the fall. The light on the edge of the forest on the other side of the water was mesmerizing. I have tried various thumbnail sketches and not one was right. After looking at my reference, I decided to do what Tom Thompson did with his landscapes, place trees in the foreground. The result is LAST LIGHT.
