Lady Slippers


This work was painted with liquid acrylics. The paint is very transparent and the canvas is smooth. White acrylic mixed with a small amount of yellow was used on the large white petals and the edging on the petals. I am above all a watercolorist and I adore the transparency of that medium. Acrylics can also be transparent, allowing me to work in layers of glazing to achieve an amazing depth of color.
