Lac Beauport




This chapel at Lac Beauport is very important in the lives of the people living around the lake. Birth, marriage, and death are celebrated there. The chapel is on the water's edge and dominates the scene from many points around the lake.

I have painted this subject before as an autumn scene, but I always thought that it would make a serene winter painting. I painted it while I was in Lac Beauport during September and the reaction from the people of Lac Beauport was wonderful.
