January Illumination




I saw this hibiscus one morning in early January. The light was very strong and not high in the sky. Each of the flowers in the hibiscus garden was a light in a field of dark. The patterns of light and shade throughout the garden were beautiful and are seen exclusively at this time of the year- January.

I used the colors in the flower as a base color for the dark background. Reds, yellows,greens, and purple were the selection.
