Frangipani

The first time I saw a frangipani, I was in Tahiti. I was aware of a soft and sensual perfume in the breeze. It was a scent that I could not identify. The next time that I was conscious of that fragrance, I was threading lush white flowers to create a lei. The frangipani is easy to thread. At this time of year when the first flakes of snow arrive, I think of Bora Bora and the frangipani which grows there in abundance. I can almost smell them as I paint them.
