Forbidden Fruit

AWARDED THE SCA BRONZE
MEDAL 2010
The humble pear is my favorite fruit to paint. In this
watercolor, I used the pear as an area of light and focus.
They are nestled into silk and velvet and they are elevated
on the picture plane. Not only does the fabric give them a
new kind of status, but the richness of the color adds a
second contrast.
I will be exhibiting this painting with the Societe canadienne
de l'aquarelle at their annual exhibition in May in Montreal.
Dimensions: 22 x 30
