Flight of Fancy




This work started with no pre-conceived plan, as do all of my abstracts. After squeezing thick paint onto the Yupo, I used a plastic card to create swirling movement. I put the painting aside for a few weeks. When I worked on it again, I ignored the paint that I had applied earlier. I painted washes, sprayed them and wiped off color. Eventually, the swirling movement started to reappear again. All that had to be done was to suggest a few head shapes and flight of fancy was born.
