Duo as One

This pair was seen hanging suspended from a clay pot at Selby Gardens, Sarasota. As one bloom, this flower is exquisite; as a unit of two, I cannot describe my wonderment. Orchids are amazing. As a painter, their form is simple and intricate at the same time. The variety of colors that they exhibit is breathtaking. Surprisingly, the color in the top petals was a combination of the colors in the round bottoms and the green of the foliage. The background is a mix of the colors in the flowers.

Dimensions: 20 x 16
