Calm at the Cove

Peggy's Cove is always surprising. It receives thousands of visitors annually. I have been there when the wind is so fierce that the waves rise over the top of the top rocks; I have been there when the sun is warm, but by the water your hands can freeze. The waves can be high and rolling or flat and calm.
To the left of this vantage point stands the lighthouse, an often photographed and painted image. At the cove, it is the flat rocks formed by the glaciers that fascinate me. In this work, I worked on a blue watercolor paper using blue as the dominant color. The sky has no color added; it is the actual color of the paper.
