Autumnlight

In late September, the garden flowers have died and we are looking for ways to extend the color of the summer. The solution here in Montreal is to plant fall mums or place pots of fall mums on your porch. They last into November. For this work, I gessoed a watercolor paper & painted in acrylics in a manner of painting on canvas. The darks are painted transparently & the lights are painted opaquely. The colors remind me of the autumn landscape.

Dimensions: 22" x 30"

Medium: acrylic
