Autum Glow




When I was in the eastern townships in October, I noticed a sign on the highway that said LE SENTIER DU VIEUX MOULIN (pathway to the old mill). I decided to explore. There was a short drive into the woods and in a clearing, I stopped and listened to the tumbling water. After walking for a few minutes, I came upon this scene. I was speechless. The scene glowed in the late afternoon light. After painting the landscape, I noticed that I had used the same palette as the painting AUTUMN BEAUTIES: Winsor yellow, quinacridone gold, quinacridone coral, alizarin crimson, dioxazine violet, Antwerp blue, & sap green.
