Arboreal Roost

The slick surface of Yupo presents a challenge that I love. I chose liquid acrylics for the painting medium. To start, I painted a cool and a warm yellow randomly over the surface. While it was still wet, I added warm and cool reds and sprayed the surface with water to force the colors to interact with one another. After the color was dry, I sprayed a light application of Webbing Spray.

This work was entirely created with the yellows, reds and black. Lifting was done with rubbing alcohol. Discovering semi-abstract images within the work is the challenge.

Dimensions: 26 x 20
