COLOR INTERPRETATION
Color is seen and used in different ways by
visual artists. The plan for this workshop
is to explore some of the approaches to
color used in the past. Are these
approaches relevant for you? Is there one
that fits what you do?
We will be looking at:
- the traditional palette
- the tonalist approach
- the impressionist palette
- the post-impressionist palette
- creating a luminous work with muted colors
The subject matter will be taken from the
natural surroundings of Mount Sutton in
Canada's Estern Townships, Quebec.
Sketching will be done from the subject, and
painting, DEMOs, and lectures will take place
in the studio. Weather permitting, painting
en plein air will be encouraged.
